No other revolver action
compares with the MANURHIN MR73. All experts agree that this is an
exceptionally smooth, light action, created in close consultation with international-level
target shooters by one of Europe's foremost defence and armaments company.
The MANURHIN MR73 is standard issue with France's
elite police and military Special Weapons and Tactics teams (R.A.I.D., G.I.G.N. and
comparable units). Quite a few European and world champions have used MR73 revolvers
to take many national and world records.
MANURHIN MR73 FRAMES
are fully machined from forged ordnance-certified steel billets for total reliability.
MANURHIN MR73 CYLINDERS
are machined from specially formulated, ordnance-certified alloyed steel stock procured
from Aubert & Duval, an internationally-recognised specialist manufacturer of special
steels. Final chamber finish is conducted by a specific impact process that ensures
glass-smooth chamber walls with a very high hardness for extreme accuracy and long service
life. 9MM Luger cylinders are available separately to take advantage of low-cost, widely
available ammunition aside from the standard .357 Mad/.38 Special chambering. The MR73
action cannot be operated once the cylinder has been swung out.
MANURHIN MR73 BARRELS
are produced using the cold-hammering technique from ordnance-certified alloyed steel
blanks also procured from Aubert & Duval. The cold hammer-forging process
increases the density of the steel fibers by displacing them. This greatly increases
the useful life of the barrel, compared to conventional barrel cutting techniques that
disrupt the molecular structure of steel and creates weak points. Manurhin barrels have an
extremely long accuracy life and provide near-perfect precision.
MANURHIN MR73 FITTING & ADJUSTING
as well as final polishing and finishing are entirely done by hand. Our master
armorers have a long experience in the precision work involved. Gun fanciers and
connoisseurs will immediately perceive the quality of a MANURHIN MR73
revolver - an accurate, lightweight, perfectly balanced, fast handling and fast firing
revolver with a glass-smooth fully adjustable action. Sport versions come with fully
adjustable, factory set sights.
MANURHIN MR73 PROOFING AND TEST FIRING
Ensure life long reliability and shooter protection. |
- Every chamber is proof-fired with ammunition generating 30 per
cent more pressure than the C.I.P. /SAAMI maximum allowable pressure for the Magnum
cartridge. Official proofhouse marks are stamped on the barrels, cylinders and frames.
|
- Function testing is conducted by our MANURHIN master armores, with
special attention given to trigger pull weight and adjustment range.
|
- Accuracy testing : every Match revolver is shipped with its own
factory test target. No group over 20mm (0.8 inch) diameter with selected ammunition is
allowed. Every revolver is fired an average of 15 times.
|
MANURHIN MR73 REVOLVERS will not burst or
show any bulging or deformation even with ammunition developing double the CIP standard
maximum allowable pressure of the .357 Magnum cartridge (2x3,200 bar is 6,400 bar or
92,8000 psi). One could shoot two commercial .357 Magnum cartridges in the same chamber at
the same time and get away with it.
